Blue (veg) & red (flowering) buttons
The LEDTonic Z5 is fitted with two buttons: a blue button that turns on blue and most white diodes and a red button that turns on the red and some white diodes.
The diodes are split into two groups, veg and flowering, to:
Reduce the consumed power when maximum performance isn’t necessary (when vegging).
Reduced power results in reduced light output which in turn allows for shorter distance between lamp and canopy in tight grow areas.
Offers different types of light spectrum to help stimulate the plant during its various stages. Customize according to your need.
When to use which buttons?
The light spectrum emitted when both buttons are switched on is the most comparable spectrum to natural sunlight, but with a pink-ish twist due to the slightly reduced green color.
Use both buttons at least from mid-late veg but the full spectrum can also be utilized from day 1 assuming the lamp can be hung high enough.
During seedling and early veg, the blue button can be used alone if the goal is to utilize a blue-heavy color spectrum.
The red button should only be used alone if the Z5 lamp is being used as a complementary lamp to an already existing lamp setup.
Seedlings/clones: The Z5 will cover a 3x3’ (~90x90 cm) area well for cannabis plants in their seedling/clone stage at a 24” distance from canopy using both the red and blue button.
Vegetative stage: The Z5 will cover a 2.5x2.5’ (~80x80 cm) area well for cannabis plants in their vegetative stage at an 18-20” distance from canopy using both the red and blue button.
Flowering stage: The Z5 will cover a 2x2’ (~60x60 cm) area well for cannabis plants in their flowering stage at a 12” distance from canopy using both the red and blue button.
Light footprint (PPFD) maps below.
To create a full spectrum that is close to natural light but also efficient, the following nanometer (color) of diodes have been used:
|Nm||# Veg||# Flowering||Efficacy (umol/J)|
Blue button: 51W
Red button: 61W
Both buttons: 112W
System efficiency: 1.3 umol/J
Voltage: 110-240V (works all over the world)
Power cord type: US plug (C13)
Power cord length: 5’ (155 cm)
Fans: two quiet medium sized fans only adding 7 db to the ambient room decibel
Warranty: 3 years
Rated at: L70 after 50.000 hours
Included in the box:
Lamp, power cord, 4-arm metal wire hanger, basic product manual.
Not included (may be necessary if you don’t already own):
Ratchet, LED grow room glasses, adapter for the power cord if using with different outlets than the US-type.
